The First EP was a Demo pressed for limited release.
Approximately 100 CD copies were made in Mid 2004, before a World Trip and copies given to excellent people that became soul brothers and sisters as some kind of a memory of the time, whiles travelling.
The Demo is a collection of songs written at various times during the 1990's. Tracks 1, 3 & 4 date back to the band Botswana' (1992 - 1996) where Chris Simmons, Arty del Rio, Jude Prezens, and Matt Prezens played.
Chris Simmons was busy with young family commitments, running a small business, and studying and decided to leave the band in 1996. Joined briefly by Paola del Rio (Midget Stooges), before Rob Dawson joined in late 1996. A number fo songs were recorded in 1997 with Arty, Jude, Matt & Rob on Rob's newly acquired Digital 8-Track. Left largely unmixed, these songs and others stayed in a Master Cassette. The other 2 songs on this Demo were written around this time in 1998, but the songs were becoming more intricate, and were never played with Botswana, but rough demos were recorded at the time. Angel Mermaid Demo was recorded with Carl Williams' Digital 8-Track that was the same as Rob's. Carl and Chris Richards shared a flat in Northcote. Chris was Glenn Richard's brother (Augie March) and Carl was Dave Williams brother (Drummer for Augie March). Arty, Rob, Chris, Carl, Glenn had been friends as we met through mutual friend Rohan Claffey at Melbourne University. The band was put in hiatus in 1998 as Arty took a trip to Peru, and upon return moved to Canberra (Australia) after completing his studies. So the songs remained unreleased.
Rob helped Augie March out a number of times and in those days 1997-1998, joined the band as Keyboard player, whilst pursuing his Audio/Sound career in Film Making.
Beautiful Rob passed away in January 2001, in a terrible car accident, coming back from New Year getaway with his his partner Claude, whom Rob ensured survived by swerving the car to his side onto on coming drunk/sleeping driver.
Between 2001-2003, Spring's Fling demo was recorded in Canberra, the other songs were lifted from the cassette and re-mixed (as much as possible) and Mastered in Canberra.
The songs were packaged and by July 2004, and 2x50 pressings of 'the first ep' Demo was released and sent to select Radio Stations and labels.
